1. Compliance with Global Data Protection Laws

This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with global privacy standards, including:

  • DPDP Act 2023 (India Digital Personal Data Protection Act)
  • Google Play Store & Apple App Store Developer Policies regarding Financial Services, Personal Sensitive Information (PSI), and SMS permissions.

2. Information We Collect and How We Process It

A. SMS Permissions and Transaction Detection (Sensitive Data)

FISC automatically tracks your financial transactions to eliminate the friction of manual bookkeeping.

  • Consent & Control: We request explicit permission to access your device's SMS inbox. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device settings.
  • On-Device Local Parsing: The extraction and parsing of transaction details from SMS messages happen entirely locally on your mobile device. Raw SMS messages never leave your device and are never sent to our servers, database, or any third party.
  • Extracted Data Storage: Only the structured transaction metadata extracted from financial SMS messages is captured. This metadata includes: Transaction Date & Time, Transaction Amount, Merchant Name / Payee, and Transaction Type.
  • Exclusions: Our algorithms explicitly filter out non-transactional messages. We do not read, process, or extract information from personal chats, OTPs, verification codes, marketing SMS, or non-financial messages.

B. Account Information

When you register for an account, we collect your email address, securely hashed password, and name/username (if provided).

C. Financial App State

To provide tracking and insights, we store your budget targets, categories, manual expense entries, savings goals, and the extracted transaction list.

D. Analytics

We use analytics tools to analyze app usage. Sensitive financial details, account numbers, balances, and raw SMS text are never sent to our analytics providers. We minimize personally identifiable information (PII) transmitted.

3. Data Storage, Syncing, and Security

Local Device Encryption: All transaction cache, budget states, and credentials stored locally are encrypted at rest using system-level cryptographic APIs.

Hosting and Backend: Your account details and financial app state are securely stored and synced. Data in transit is encrypted using SSL/TLS. Data at rest is encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. We implement strict Row-Level Security to ensure only you can access your data.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Categorize and visualize your spending habits.
  • Manage budgets and savings goals.
  • Provide cloud backup and synchronize your data across devices.
  • Detect bugs and improve the user experience.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your financial data or personal information with third-party advertisers or brokers.

5. Data Deletion Policy and Account Closure

You have complete control over your data. You can delete your account and all associated financial transaction histories, budgets, and profile data directly through the settings panel in the App, or by emailing us at support@getfisc.in.
